Since from the time migrating my self from Windows XP to Windows 7, I prefer to use a bootable USB drive instead of any CDs and DVDs because they becomes useless in case of Laptops CD/DVD writer and after being used lot’s of time they start giving you problem. There are many reason behind using bootable usb drive two of them are fast copying speed and quick process, large size of operating system.

What is Bootable USB

Bootable USB is same as your bootable disk drive, it helps to boot your machine from your USB drive. It takes just 10-20 minus from completing any boot from USB and quite simple to do.
We can easily create a bootable Operating System USB device without any software in Windows Vista and above operating system.

Create Bootable installation USB without any software on Windows

I am a Windows users and as like other windows user I just format my desktop because of getting my device like my room and formatting the drive is much better than deleting and uninstalling games and other files to free space.

Thus I always boot from USB because using a DVD can take you in trouble. You can create a bootable USB without any software on Windows vista, 7 and new Windows 8 as well.

Requirements

To create a bootable USB obviously you will need a pen drive or usb disk drive and ISO file or bootable disk image file.

• First of all plug your device on your laptop/pc and search for “Create and format partition”.
• Right click on your partition and select ‘Mark partition as active’ option.
• Format your USB pendrive.
• Now extract the ISO file ( I prefer to use Winrar) on your USB or if you want to create a system recovery USB then please read :-

  After extracting your ISO file you will be able to boot from your pen drive.

Create bootable USB drive without software on Linux

To create bootable usb disk on Linux without any software follow the below procedure:-

• Open dash and search for the startup disk creator and launch it.
• Now click other and select image file.
• Burn the file on your USB (make sure the ISO file is bootable)
• Finish the wizard and you are done.Creating Bootable USB on Ubantu is quite easy.
